I think tendou likes being called babygirl

reading this literally felt the same way i imagine it feels to have the devil knock at your door. i feel like frollo when he sees esmeralda in the flames because you’re soooo fucking right. i’m so sorry for what i’m about to become here and in the tags.

cw: petnames, groping, i mention and oedipus complex at the end, teasing (ofc), i really don’t know how to tag for this just know i’m thinking weird thoughts and i wanted to give u a warning. the tags are weirder.

i feel like at first it starts as a little joke between the two of you, but quickly spirals into tension filled teasing. you call him babygirl and he leans in real close to you and grins this sleepy, lust-drunk grin and goes “yes?” because it’s weird and he’s REALLLY into it.

he knows it gets you going when he responds to it and it’s something of a pet name, but for some reason he weaponizes it a little bit.

“how’s my babygirl today?”

“mmm hungry..” he smiles a sly grin. satori puts his hands on your hips and draws you close to his sitting figure. he rests his hands on your hips so that his face is positioned just below your chest. “i could eat you up.”

“i should be saying that to you,” you huff as he presses his mouth to your fleshy stomach.

“maybe,” he says but it’s clear his interests are elsewhere as his hand creeps up to cup your breast. “got something for me?”

your reply is breathy. “if you’re hungry, cook.”

“not that kind of hungry…” he hums quietly. “not gonna take care of me?” he presses his face into your clothed breast. “mean.”

you run your hands through his spiky red hair, tilting your head back as he looks at you over the swell of your chest with glassy, teasing eyes.

“you’re a big baby.”

“yup,” he pops his p and presses his mouth to your nipple through your shirt. “you smell good.”

you sigh as he palms at your chest as waist, mouthing at the fabric of your shirt. satori closes his eyes momentarily, furrowing his small eyebrows. his hands are so big on you, grabbing slowly and pinching at the fat on your sides.

“satori…” you gasp quietly.

“who?”

when you open your eyes, he’s smirking at you with his head tilted up, his mouth still half pressed to your chest.

“babygirl,” you breathe, despite the heat that rises to your face.

“yeah, that’s it,” he says lightly, giving you that weird signature smile he seems to adopt when you play along.

anyway……….. i think he’s oedipus complex weird. and i think he plays up on the discomfort of it. it gets him off.

Notes for each of them below

Circle of Life

Honestly, not a lot you can change about Circle of Life. It’s perfection already, so why mess with it right? And for the most part I didn’t, other than a couple cosmetic changes (namely in order and type of animals on display). There’s a couple notable animals that will come back later in the story as minor characters. The only part is really changes from the source is when Rafiki is ‘baptising’ (for lack a better word) Simba, there’s a couple extra stage-directions and interactions with characters, and I wrote the actions of the animals to be more fitting in live action without losing any and all emotion behind their movement (thanks Jon) Once again I’d recommend reading through first then going back over with the linked music and images (if you want to), the stage directions do all fit in time with the music but only if you’re a fast reader. And the way is formatted it works out that the order goes “Stage directions > the dialogue/lines accompanying them”

Life’s Not Fair

Oh this is one I had a lot of fun with. Both original movies have some good solid ground to work from, and I just really took that and fleshed it out, and added my own thing here and there.

I think Scar’s monologue to the mouse is a good opportunity to showcase how he thinks the world works and what his underlying motives are, I also liked playing him as attempting to be more psychologically offensive to Mufasa than physically 

Speaking of, I think in both original scenes Mufasa comes across as too aggressive towards Scar, so I tried to portray his calmer and more pacifistic side until Scar pushes his buttons.

I did sort of nerf Zazu’s involvement in Mufasa and Scar’s back and forth but you know I’m giving him a bigger role going forward so it’s a fair trade-off

Like the 2019 movie, I basically spell out the ‘Scar’ mystery straight away, and my explanation is somewhat similar. I planted the ‘mommy’ mystery in exchange, which I’ll reveal down the line if I can slip it in organically 

As far as voice acting goes, I have a couple things

JEJ obviously gave an amazing performance in the original, but that was 25 years ago, and it really shows in the remake. In general I think it’s a dumb decision to recast 90% of the characters but keep one, but here it hurt the movie especially. After talking with @kingmxfasa about it earlier (who also inspired a lot of the Mufasa dialogue) and running through some options, I think I’ve more or less settled on Norm Lewis, who I think has the bass that Mufasa’s voice requires, but doesn’t sacrifice warmth (or singing ability, which will be important later). He was the Phantom on Broadway for a while, as well as King Triton in the original Little Mermaid broadway show, so there’s that

Chiwetel Ejiofor is another one who I think did...fine, as Scar, but mostly ran into problems with bad directing. Still, if we’re recasting we may as well recast everyone, and my pick for Scar would be David Oyelowo. I think he does a fantastic job as Scar in The Lion Guard, and all he would really need to do to make the transfer would be to tone down the over-the-top and campyness of that role, but not lose so much of it so that Scar still has some personality. If you’ve seen him in other stuff then you know he’s a good enough actor to pull the role off. Also we know he can at least speak-sing, which is all you really need to do for Be Prepared

 Phil Lewis has always been my half-jokey fan-cast for Zazu, but it works. And screw it this thing isn’t actually getting made. It’s my rewrite and if I want to cast Mr. Moseby as Zazu then that’s who I’ll damn-well cast 

Rafiki’s Painting

I have the least to say about this one tbh, it’s a pretty short scene

I have to assume John Kani can’t sing, so I’m gonna go ahead and cast Lebo M. as Rafiki. Honestly, who can say he hasn’t earned it at this point? I don’t think he’s an actor, but that didn’t stop Beyonce now, did it?

I did debate on changing Rafiki’s species to something like a Hamadryas baboon, but decided against it. I really wanted to emphasize that he’s not exactly a solid part of the Pridelands, and his tree and the area around it and so far beyond their borders. It can be assumed he has the same relationship with like 5 other animal Kings

I don’t really know what sort of ‘natural paints’ Rafiki could be using here, but I’m sure there’s something so I just hand-waved it by having it not be ‘on screen’. I also liked how he spoke in Xhosa(?) during this scene in the remake, but I don’t know any Xhosa and I’m also a very very white man so yeah I’m not touching that
